Obituary
In Loving Memory of Gail Bryksa 1944-2021 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gail – our beloved mother and grandmother. She passed away August 18, 2021 at the Foam Lake Jubilee Home at the age of 77, where she resided for a short 3 weeks. Gail was born in Regina to Gordon and Lavona Allen, she was their only child, and grew up in the Lestock and Wishart Districts. Gail graduated from Wishart high school and then moved to Regina to attend Secretarial School. Her first job was at the Foam Lake School Division. While being employed there she met Mike Bryksa who was also employed with the Division as a school bus driver. They married on July 9th, 1966 at Model Farm Church. After a short time living in Foam Lake they moved to the family farm by West Bend, where they raised 4 children, Lindsay, Shannon, Cory, and Darcy. They resided there for 30 some years until moving back to Foam Lake. Gail primarily worked on the farm while the children were small and later started a grocery store with Alice (Olga) Woitas in West Bend. After it closed she took a position at the Foam Lake Bakery and worked for Linda and Ed. There was always an on-going tally on how many pies she made while there. In 1996 she became the Foam Lake Community Hall Manager and held that position for 20+ years. She went out of her way to accommodate and provide the best service to anyone that used that facility. Gail loved her family. Her grandchildren were very important to her, and loved when they all came over. The family meals were her specialty, and she made something unique for each family member every time she cooked, knowing that they would be looking for their favourite dish. She always joked that being an only child and marrying into the Bryksa family she learned to cook very fast and for a lot of people. As well as loving to cook she equally loved her garden and flowers. Very rarely did we see her table without a recipe or a seed catalogue on it. Gail will be forever missed by her children, Lindsay (Sandra) Bryksa, daughter Peyton; Shannon (Darren) Rokochy, children Caragen, Benjamin, Grayson; Cory (Kelly) Bryksa, children Jenna, Troy, Breck, and Jera; and Darcy Bryksa. In-laws Don and Eileen Bryksa; Jean Bryksa; and Hal Dean Peterson; aunt Sharon McLaren, numerous nephews and nieces and special cousins.
